Who We Are

Balloontern is a China-based design brand dedicated to decorative, solar-powered hot air balloon pieces—mainly lanterns, but also garden stakes, wind chimes, and other outdoor décor. We create pieces that make outdoor spaces feel playful, calming, and a little bit magical when the lights come on at night.

 

Handcrafted in Small Batches

Our products are not mass-produced on anonymous assembly lines. Every Balloontern piece is made in small batches and finished by hand—from the metal frame to the glass surface and painted details.

 

Our main manufacturing base is located in a region of China traditionally known as a “hometown of ceramics”—a place with a long history of craftsmanship and handwork. We don’t make porcelain, but we carry forward the same spirit: patience, precision, and the belief that everyday objects can be made with care and character.

 

Because of this, each lantern is slightly unique. Small variations in color, brushwork, and pattern are part of the handmade process and a sign that your piece was created by real people, not just machines.

 

From Offline Craft to Online Brand

For many years, Balloontern was shared only offline—through local partners, word of mouth, and small-batch orders. As people’s shopping habits shifted from offline to online, we began building our e-commerce channels in 2025.

That’s why you may be discovering us online only recently, even though the designs, molds, and craft behind our products have been developed and refined over a much longer time.

We focus on:
